Following the success of our inaugural issue, the Journal of Black Opera and Music Theatre invites submissions for Volume 2, Issue 1. For this second edition, we aim to engage a broader thematic and methodological scope. We welcome contributions on opera and other forms of music theatre that center Blackness—whether as subject matter, methodological approach, site of identity formation, or critical lens.
As before, we encourage submissions from scholars at all career stages as well as from practitioners. The journal publishes work across three sections and continues to support a variety of formats and perspectives that enrich the field.
Only manuscripts that adhere strictly to the submission and style guidelines will be considered.
